BR Ambedkar's 125-feet tall statue to be unveiled in Hyderabad by year-end.

IT minister Sri K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday said that the state government will install the 125-feet tall bronze statue of B.R. Ambedkar near NTR Gardens by December this year. He said it would be the tallest statue of Ambedkar in the world.

“Once completed, this project will become a major tourist attraction of the city and a large number of tourists from India and abroad would visit the statue. The state government in undertaking this project to stress the need for implementing the principles of Ambedkar in the country," Rama Rao said,

He appreciated minister Koppula Eshwar for speeding up works by holding regular review meetings over the last eight months.

Rama Rao said the Telangana state became a reality due to Article 3 of the Constitution which was written by Ambedkar and added that Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao was following the footsteps of Ambedkar and working sincerely for the welfare of the people as per their aspirations.

“The Telangana government wants the 125 ft Ambedkar statue to be designed on the lines of Babasaheb’s statue in Parliament. A mini model of 125-ft statue was unveiled on Thursday in Hyderabad.
Telangana welfare minister Koppula Eshwar along with experts and officials suggested some corrections,” Ram Vanji’s son Anil Sutar told TOI over phone from Delhi. 
A recipient of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, Ram Vanji along with his son visited the project site spread over 12 acres beside the under-construction new secretariat complex. The Ambedkar statue will be installed in the 12-acre plot . 

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had earlier finalised Ram Sutar’s name for the project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 140 crore.

The Smruti Vanam will have a museum, photo gallery and library depicting the life and achievements of Ambedkar, meeting and resting rooms, a canteen and gardens.

210 -Foot asteriod rushing towards Earth today , Says NASA

A massive asteroid the size of a skyscraper will pass close by Earth on Friday, February 2. The size of the harmless space rock is estimated to be between 690 and 1,575 feet (210 and 480 meters) across, according to NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies. This means that the asteroid could be similar in size to the Empire State Building in New York or Chicago’s Willis Tower. The asteroid will pass within 1.7 million miles or 2.7 million km of Earth. However, its close proximity is of the least concern. The US space agency said the asteroid is a harmless fly-by as it will pass almost seven times the distance from Earth to the moon, according to the Associated Press. NASA confirmed that a 210-foot asteroid is hurtling towards Earth and is set to be a close call based on the expected trajectory. NASA estimates that the asteroid, which is called 2023 KW2, is the size of a large Boeing 747 airplane. It is expected to reach its closest distance to Earth at 4.5 million kilometers away. W
